The Senate Community Affairs References Committee is conducting an Inquiry in to the Adequacy of Newstart and related payments.
A Senate Inquiry is when a group of Senators from a variety of political parties work together to seek public input on a topic. They then seek further information, or evidence, from some members of the public through hearings, and use the information to make recommendations to the Government about ways to improve or to draw attention to a particular problem.
To assist us in best representing how the low level of Newstart impacts public housing tenants to the Inquiry, we asked people to fill in a short survey.
As submissions to the Inquiry are due on 13 September 2019, we have now closed this survey so that we can include the results and finalise our submission.
We will post a link to our final submission as soon as it is available.
We have kept all responses to the survey anonymous.
