The public housing waiting list numbers for December are out and they show a major drop.
There were 32,564 households on the waiting list, or approximately 60,000 people. This represents a drop of 6.2% from the previous quarter where there were 34,729 households on the waiting list.

For those people in urgent need on the Early Housing list, the improvement was more modest, with the December list showing 9,778 down from 9,952 in September.
The transfer waiting list has also slightly improved and now stands at 7,532.
