The following details on the 2017 Scholarships Program has been sourced from the Kids Under Cover website.

Applications for scholarships for the 2017 academic year open on Monday 9th May and close on Friday 17th June 2016.

How does it work?

The Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) Student Scholarships Program helps young people living in public or community housing, or those at risk of homelessness, get the support they need to stay in school and achieve their full potential.

The Victorian Government funds the Student Scholarships Program to help young people stay engaged with education and complete years 11 and 12 at Secondary School or TAFE.

The money from the scholarships can be used for items that broadly assist educational participation and achievement, such as text books, computer equipment, public transport, disability aids or other specialist equipment. Aside from financial assistance, the program also acknowledges students for their effort and attendance and supports them to build a solid foundation for their future.
