Today the Ashburton, Ashwood & Chadstone Public Tenants Group conducted a tour of walk-up flats in their local area. They were checking out the condition of the properties, many of which are over 60 years old.
They will use the information they gathered to better advocate for local public housing tenants.
The Ashburton, Ashwood & Chadstone Public Tenants Group Inc. is run by public tenants that as a collective voice advocates and lobbies for improved living situations for public tenants residing in the local area.
The Group invites all local tenants to come along to one of their monthly meetings. The group meets every third Thursday of the month at the Batesford Reserve Hub at 1pm. Lunch is provided and they want to welcome as many public tenants as they can.
Membership is free and is open to all residents living in the Ashburton, Ashwood and Chadstone area.
