SECRETARY OF VICTORIAN TRADES HALL COUNCIL WANTS MORE PUBLIC HOUSING

We recently met with the Secretary of Victorian Trades Hall Council, Luke Hilakari, to talk about the need for more public housing and how building more stock would boost job, apprenticeship and manufacturing numbers.

Luke agreed and has signed our campaign pledge for more public housing.

On the issue, he stated that:

“Every Victorian deserves a safe, secure job and a place to go home to.

But Melbourne’s lack of affordable housing is pushing more of us out to the margins.

We’re spending too much time getting to and from work, and it’s getting out of hand.

Housing in our cities needs to be affordable for the people who keep a city running.

Let’s make it happen.”

Do you also think our state needs more public housing to address the growing waiting list?
