After years in the planning, the Hampon Station Precinct Redevelopment seems to be gathering pace.
Shortlisting of developers began in 2014 and aside from choosing the developer and relocating some of the public housing tenants there has been little progress to report.
Currently at the Station there are 16 single bedroom units, and initially it was proposed to replace them like-for-like in the new development.
However, a recent re-design has increased the public housing component to 18, including five 2-bedroom units.
We are pleased that VPTA advocacy has helped, in part at least, to achieve this improvement.
Over the next month the community engagement for the project will ramp up. There will be information sessions locally on the 10th and 12th of November.
