Over 100 local residents enjoyed the “Public and Proud” dinner organised by the Ashburton, Ashwood & Chadstone Public Tenants Group Inc. last Friday.

Natalija Rabey and her team hosted the event at the Batesford Community Hub.

There was karaoke, door prizes and a hearty dinner on offer.

The kids also enjoyed the face painting and an appearance by a balloon artist dressed as a pirate.

The Ashburton, Ashwood & Chadstone Public Tenants Group initiated this event last year and it has gone from strength to strength.

This very active local tenant group holds monthly meeting for members, and has a great core of volunteers who are available to meet with tenants who need help.

The group maintains strong relationships with local politicians as well as the local DHHS office.

The Monash Council, Link Health and Community and the Encounter Baptist Church all supported the event.

Everyone involved should be congratulated for putting on such a great night.
